For many in our community, learning English as a second language can feel intimidating, with few low-pressure places to practice. Out of love for God and our neighbors, First Baptist Katy has partnered with FriendSpeak—a program designed to help non-native English speakers improve their conversational skills in a warm, encouraging environment.

Be a FriendSpeak Volunteer!
FriendSpeak offers friendship and English conversation practice to our international neighbors in a one-to-one setting while reading the Bible, beginning with the gospel of Luke. A workbook is provided to guide each weekly session, containing focus words and discussion questions.
All it takes to serve in this ministry is a passion to share the love of Christ, speak and read English fluently, and one hour per week.

Conversational English Sessions are being offered at First Baptist Katy!
FriendSpeak is an internationally known English program offering the chance to improve your English skills through conversations using the Bible, starting with the book of Luke. You’ll receive one-on-one instruction and learn at your own pace in a friendly, casual atmosphere.
Sessions are free ($15 workbook fee) and meet weekly in person for one hour.
