The best first-step to DISCOVER Katy’s First is by attending one of our Worship Services on a Sunday.
 
We have multiple gatherings each week where we invite you to participate as you feel comfortable. By joining us in-person, you will see the culture of Katy’s First, meet new friends, and learn about ongoing connection opportunities. We trust that you’ll quickly realize we are a vibrant congregation who has a hunger for God and loves welcoming visitors!
 
Time: Bible Study 9:00am | Worship Service 10:30am | Sunday Evening Service 5:30pm*
 
What to Wear: Our congregation dresses in a variety of ways. You can wear jeans and a t-shirt or suit and tie. Whatever you prefer is great with us!
 
Coffee: Coffee is available in our Welcome Center, located just inside our steeple doors.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the Word of God. It teaches a transformation of life is available through personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior lived out in authentic biblical community. We hold to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as our doctrinal standard because it represents this truth well and serves as a helpful framework to carry out our core values (Baptist Faith and Message 2000).

We are a church who cherishes God’s Word. We are grateful for His divine revelation and we are serious about everything He has said.
 
We long to be a people who worship through the Word. We preach the Word, we teach the Word, we sing the Word, we pray through the Word, we encourage each other in the Word, and we share the Word with the world.
 
The Bible is our authority and our guide for all of life. We want you to flourish in your faith, therefore every ministry focus at Katy’s First is grounded in Scripture. We revere what God says and we endeavor to follow His commands. We study God’s Word systematically, we share His truth courageously and graciously, and we live out His standards intentionally.
The gospel is good news! The gospel is the declaration of the person and work of Jesus Christ — who He is and what He has accomplished through His life, death, resurrection, and exaltation. And this message is the joy of our hearts.
 
We are consumed with the gospel. Jesus is our only hope for salvation, and this glorious news grips us and motivates every aspect of our pursuits. As we meditate on what Jesus has done for us at Calvary, we are then propelled to devote our lives to his cause. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation and it is also the power we need to live out our Christian lives. Because of the gospel, we can commit to a lifestyle of worship. The gospel fuels us to love the Lord and to love our neighbor.
 
We cherish Him. We adore Him. We delight in Him. We chase holiness and engage in service because of what we have received through the cross. We are grounded in the gospel.
We are built for worship. Our lives are to be a testimony of Christ’s worth, His majesty, and His grace. We exist for the glory of God and to lift His name high. We have a lofty view of our King and His renown is our anthem.
 
Therefore, we prioritize our opportunities to gather each week. We highlight the beauty and simplicity of the common means of grace, and our prayer is that every aspect of our Worship Services celebrates the spirit of unity accomplished by the blood of Jesus. The Lord’s Day is a priority for our congregation. We gather each Sunday to preach, to teach, to fellowship, to give, to sing, to baptize, to take communion, and to build each other up in the truth. Our goal is the vitality of your soul and we want your Christian walk to be marked by spiritual strength.
 
We want to equip you in each stage of life so that your days honor our Savior. We believe that we can be changed as we align with God’s design for life and ministry. So, we come together each week seeking spiritual transformation. As we sing, we blend hymns and modern songs that are rich in theology and full of timeless truths. Congregational singing should exalt Jesus while also drawing people to Him. We aim to sing with a passionate, joyful, reverence.
At Katy’s First, not only do we want your soul fed, but we want your heart cared for. The pastors and staff are committed to making sure you are known and ministered to during your times of need. Whether you need pastoral care, encouragement from our ministry team, service from the deacons, or support from fellow congregants, we hope that you trust your church family is here to help.
 
We prioritize local church membership to assist in this focus, because we want you to be nurtured and shepherded well. Living in a fallen world can be difficult, but in the Lord’s mercy, He has given us a local congregation as a support system. We are a church who is unwavering in our devotion to our members as they navigate the trials of life. You are never alone!
God has made us to unite in relationships that lead to ongoing spiritual transformation. This lifestyle of discipleship is available in authentic biblical communities, best experienced when members are active in the life of a local church.
 
We are intentionally relational, structuring fellowship for our encouragement and nourishment. We are a place where you can connect and grow, being equipped to use your gifts for Christ’s Kingdom. We strive to make disciples who make disciples and work to help you thrive in whatever roles the Lord has called you to. We want you growing in the faith and bringing others along with you. Our disciple-making is specifically focused on these ends as we all are transformed into the image of Christ.
 
Authentic biblical community is one that is unified and harmonious. Through the power of the cross, we are knit together in the Holy Spirit. We love our brothers and sisters in the faith and we are always eager to welcome visitors. We invite newcomers to join us and to partner with us in the work of our Savior.
Flowing from our spiritual growth, we seek to enrich our world for Christ, starting in our local community. We want Katy to be blessed by our devotion to our Savior. We long to see Texas transformed by the power of the gospel, and we pray for an awakening to break out in our country that impacts the most remote places on earth.
 
We want the aroma of Christ to follow us in all we do, so we seek to be a blessing in every sphere of life. We serve each other, our community, and the nations under our Lord’s banner. God’s standards lead to spiritual and cultural thriving, so as we see Him raise up worshippers and align their thoughts to His Word, the world is blessed.
 
We have been invited into the greatest mission of all time — taking the gospel from Katy to the ends of the earth, that the name of Christ will be great among the nations. We are urgent in our evangelism and discipleship, starting in our homes and taking the message of His salvation around the globe. Jesus, the only hope for our broken world, came to seek and save the lost. He built His Church to join Him in this charge, and He is coming again to welcome us Home!
Each Christ-follower is called to surrender themselves to stewardship in every area of life. Our time, talents, and treasures are gifts from God. All that we have has been given to us from the Lord and is to be used for His purposes. Everything is His and we are stewards of His resources.
 
We give of our time by structuring our schedules in such a way that we are aligning our plans with God’s priorities. We give of our talents as we find ways to serve Christ through the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. We give of our treasures by investing financial gifts to Katy’s First for the work of ministry. Our church is committed to giving generously, sacrificially, and regularly for the purpose of Kingdom fruitfulness.
Our God lives, our God reigns, and our God hears the cries of His people. In prayer, we have the opportunity to commune with our Savior. We praise Him, give Him thanks, confess our sins, make our petitions known, and intercede for others as we come before His throne.
 
Prayer represents the posture of our hearts and lives, which should be fully dependent upon God. Honest, desperate prayer is essential in everything we do, even helping us celebrate all the ways in which God may choose to bring about His glory. As we pray, we are strengthened and reminded that He is always for His people.
 
Because we know of His might and His goodness, through the work of Jesus on the cross, we approach our Lord with reverence, boldness, and in earnest. We have nothing to offer Him, but He has given us eternal promises through the cross. We are hopeful as we bring Him our needs, trusting that He will hear and answer according to His divine purposes, which are always perfect.
We have many goals that we are asking the Lord to accomplish, both in Katy and around the world. We labor to see Him glorified, His people edified, our community blessed, and the nations reached with the gospel. We are striving to be a healthy family of faith who is engaged in biblical priorities and replicating Christ-followers who are thriving in their spiritual lives.
 
But, in all we do, we realize that we are desperate for God’s sustaining grace. We can do nothing without His favor. Therefore, we ask, we seek, we knock, and we wait on Him. We lean on Him. We rest in Him and we trust in Him. If He should choose to smile on our efforts, then we will see Him do wondrous things. Our prayer is that we would be overwhelmed by all that He does through Katy’s First Baptist Church!
 
Ephesians 3:20-21
 
[20] Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, [21] to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

The next step as you get to know our church family is for you to CONNECT with us in smaller settings. These informal times of fellowship allow you to engage with our church on a personal level. You will find community and encouragement as we seek to follow the Lord together. 

At Katy’s First, we stress the fact that we are designed to live the Christian life with others, but we also recognize that relationships aren’t built overnight. The best way to develop rich friendships is to find your place within our family of faith. 

We have specific ministries based on life stage and your particular needs. Our goal is to provide opportunities for you to grow in the faith, meet new folks, and see how you can serve. You are welcome to try out different groups, events, and Bible studies. In fact, we encourage it! We want you to feel at home and comfortable as you follow the Lord’s leading.

God designed life to be lived and shared with others. We are created to belong in biblical community, and the Bible explains that local churches are the foundation for healthy fellowship. 

Scripture teaches that church membership is vital for every Christ-follower. With the exception of extraordinary circumstances, God desires for His people to connect with other believers in authentic relationships, grounded within the context of belonging as a member in a local Bible-believing church.

Investing as a member in a specific congregation is essential for churches, pastors, and individuals. For the church, the group is edified as they know who is growing and serving alongside of them. For a pastor, he is helped as he knows who is under his care and he is able to discern how he can specifically care for each Christ-follower. For the individual, belonging to a local church clarifies which shepherd God has provided for them.

Our church staff is dedicated to helping you navigate and forge authentic biblical relationships as part of the Katy’s First family. Our prayer is that you will find us to be a place where your soul is fed and your heart is cared for. As the Lord leads you to BELONG at Katy’s First, you will be known and you will find ways to use your gifts for Christ’s Kingdom.
